The National Coordinator of the One district One factory (ID-IF) Secretariat Gifty Ohene Konadu has visited the premises of Hocen Industrial Company at Asuboi in the Eastern region to commiserate with the management and staff over the recent robbery attack on the company.
The visit is to also enable the coordinator gather first-hand information on the attack which led to the death of one Chinese national. Other properties including mobile phones and cash were taken away by the bandits.
In a statement on the attack, management of the company expressed gratitude to the police for their prompt response after the attack and also urged them to do more to bring justice to victims of the incident.
“We are calling on the Ghana Police Service, Minister for National Security, Bureau of National Investigations, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ghana Export Promotion Council, and the office of 1D1F to take a keen interest in this matter as these Chinese nationals are in this country as a result of Ghana government’s efforts to attract foreign direct investment (FDI’s) specifically during the 3rd Summit of the Forum on China Africa Co-operation (FOCAC), in Beijing, China.
“We wish to also appeal to the general public especially residents in and around the environs of Asuboi area to help us with any information that can lead to the arrested of these criminals,” PRO of the company William Agyei noted.
