NPP launches project to increase votes in Election 2020

The Afigya-Kwabre South Constituency of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has launched a reward package to help increase the number of votes of the party in the 2020 presidential and parliamentary elections.

Polling station executives, who will work hard to be able to reduce the number of votes the National Democratic Congress (NDC) got in 2016 elections by just 50 votes, will be allowed to contest unopposed in the next constituency primary of the party.

Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, the constituency chairman, who announced this said the party was prepared to go all out to retain power in the 2020 general election to continue with the good works of the government for benefit of all.

He was speaking at a training programme for polling station organisers of the party in the constituency, at Kodie, aimed at sharpening skills of organizers and equip them with adequate skills to canvas for votes in their polling stations.

According to Odeneho Appiah, “NDC is main target of the 2020 elections, it is important polling station executives work extra hard to reduce number of NDC votes, while working to ensure numbers increase tremendously for NPP, polling station organisers have crucial role to play in attracting and retaining more members, well wishers and sympathisers for the party in their respective areas of operation.



“It is for you to work closely with other party leaders to engage in effective and efficient door-to-door campaign for party to redouble number of votes we obtained in 2016 elections, I charge you to eschew intimidation, blackmail of sitting Members of Parliament (MPs), District Chief Executives (DCEs) and other constituency executives, as we prepare for parliamentary primaries in constituencies.

“You must desist from putting pressure on MPs with personal demands instead, work to support them initiate projects and programmes that will help benefit majority of people in the constituency,” Odeneho Appiah admonished.

Christian Poku, the DCE, said the government had initiated a number of development projects to help improve livelihoods of residents and promote image of the district.

Francis Adomako, Ashanti Regional Organiser of the NPP, noted that polling station organisers should be able to identify individuals and groups in their areas to join the party and commended leadership for promoting unity and peace to ensure total victory for the party in 2020 elections.
