We are not in possession of FIFA forensic reports – Normalization Committee

The Normalisation Committee of the Ghana FA denied claims that they are in possession of the FIFA forensic reports that has cleared former GFA boss Kwesi Nyantakyi of all financial impropriety.

Following the unveiling of the Normalization Committee, FIFA revealed that a forensic audit will be conducted into the Kwesi Nyantakyi’s led administration.

However, on Monday, May 27, reports emerged that the world football governing body has cleared Mr Nyantakyi and members of the Executive Committee under his tenure and will not face any prosecution.

According to the reports, Chairman for the Committee, Dr Kofi Amoah is not enthused with the finding of FIFA and therefore wants a new audit to be conducted.

But a member of the Normalization Committee, Naa Adofoley Nortey rubbished the claim, denying any knowledge of such a report at the office of the committee.

“I was very surprised when I read that FIFA has finished with their forensic audit and there was no charges against Mr Nyantakyi, she said as quoted by modernghana.com.

“The Normalization Committee have not received anything from FIFA.

“We know how FIFA works when it comes to communicating to the public. Visit the website of FIFA and check if there is anything like that.

Naa Adofoley has categorically falsified the report, urging the public to disregard it.

“There is nothing like that there and I can confirm to you that we have not received anything like that.

“The publication was false and I will urge the public not to pay attention to it.

“We were even discussing when FIFA will give us the feedback on the forensic audit and as I speak nothing has been communicated to us from FIFA. The media is there to give accurate information and not to tell lies about the Normalization Committee.”

Mr Nyantakyi resigned as the president of the Ghana Football Association after he was heavily exposed in the ‘Number 12’ investigative video by Anas Aremeyaw Anas.

He is, however, challenging his lifetime ban from football-related activities at the Court of Arbitration of Sports.
