K’si: MTN Ghana sets new targets in providing innovative digital solutions

Ghana’s leading telecommunication operator, MTN, has reiterated its resolve to keep being innovative in providing unique products and services to its existing and prospective customers.

To this end, the network has hinted it is heavily investing in technological infrastructure that is in tune with the global prospects of digital services.

MTN Ghana currently leads the telecom market with 13.5 million active data subscribers and more than 10 million active mobile money subscribers.

Speaking to Ultimate Business at the official opening of MTN’s refurbished branch at Kejetia in Kumasi, Sales and Distribution Executive at MTN Ghana, Eric Nsarkoh noted that the customer was key to the existence of their operations; hence their unwavering approach to being innovative consistently.

“It’s innovation we’re talking about and we at MTN are consumer-led. We have a lot of insight into the youthful demographic of this country and where it is leading us.

“Most of it is around the global dynamics as well and across the world, more young people are looking at social media, educational media, digital music, video, science and with a lot of these things we’ve already started to participate in and bring to the doorsteps of Ghanaians,” he said.

“We heard the Mayor talk about the telemedicine at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital and it sounds like a pipe-drain if you hear these things but with the infrastructure that we’re talking about, a lot of these can be powered quite easily”, Mr. Nsarkoh added.

The MTN Ghana Sales Executive further stated that: “The business continues to innovate around these things just like the rest of the world. We are part of the modern evolution of the nation and innovation will continue to reflect the various categories.”

Also touching on ridding the system off fighting mobile money fraudsters, Mr. Nsarkoh, aside cautioning the general public on not sharing their financial status and PINs with either agents or vendors and other individuals, expressed hope that their continuous collaboration with security agencies will help reduce the incidence.

“The police are our major partners in fighting fraud. We also have to guard against any state aberrations; the responsibility for fraud control still very much resides with the Ghana Police Service.”

“We work with them so that if investigation is needed, we make our reports on time and provide them with all the necessary data and provide logistics where we can”, he concluded.

The refurbished Kejetia branch of MTN Ghana which was undertaken by Micheletti Ghana has a store which can accommodate more customers, conference rooms, offices among others.

The reconstruction was also to fulfill a promise made to His Royal Majesty, the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II on his agenda of creating jobs and supporting the local economy.
