Kidnapped Canadian girls: Key suspect not a Delta Force member – Leader

It has emerged that Seidu Mba, a suspect in police custody over his alleged involvement in the kidnapping of two Canadian girls in the Ashanti Regional capital, Kumasi, is not a member of security group, Delta Force, ABC News can report.

Seidu Yakubu Mba, a popular football pundit in Kumasi was reportedly arrested together with seven others over the kidnapping of two Canadian nationals who were volunteering in the country.

Reports have been rife following the arrests that Seidu Mba was a leading member of pro-NPP security group, Delta Forces but a former leader of the group has come out to deny the claim.

It had even been alleged that Seidu Yakubu Mba was part of a Delta Force group that chased out a judge while a court hearing was in session in the Ashanti regional capital.

The group had attacked the judge in a bid to free a colleague who was standing trial for assaulting the regional security co-ordinator for the Ashanti Region.

However, Mr. Kwadwo Bamba who was the ringleader for the dissolved group has described these assertions as untruths. Speaking to an Accra based media house which was closely monitored by ABC News Ghana, the former Delta Force leader debunked the assertions insisting that Seidu Yakubu Mba is not a member of the group.

According to Mr. Bamba, Seidu Mba has never been a member of the Delta Force group. He said the only thing he(Bamba) knows about Seidu is that he(Seidu) is a bodybuilder and a football fanatic. He says Seidu Mba is neither an NPP member nor a member of his Delta Force group.

“Please, this Seidu that goes with the nickname “Mba” has never been an NPP member, he has never attended any meeting of the NPP, has never attended any program of the NPP not to talk of being a Delta Force member” , the former leader of the Delta Force stressed.

He continued that, “he has never been a Delta Force member and he will never be a member. The reason why I’m saying this is, as I speak to you, the group has been dissolved so where lies the proof that he is a member. He has never been part of us and we have never had any relationship whatsoever with him. This is what I want Ghanaians to understand”.
