Methodist pastor caged for faking his kidnap over GH¢4,550 ransom

The Methodist pastor who faked his kidnap over GH¢4,550 ransom has been remanded in prison custody by a Magistrate Court to reappear on July 24, 2019, MyNewsGh.com has confirmed.

Pastor Peter Adewuyi 30 and his accomplice Ajewole 25 have both been charged with aiding, arranging and abetting kidnapping after their arrest on June 11, 2019 by the police.

Giving the facts of the case before a Nigerian Magistrate, Omolola Akosile the Police Prosecutor Monica Ikebuilo revealed that the suspect had hid himself in a hotel in Ado Ekiti on the pretense that he had been kidnapped, claiming that his captors were demanding N3 million ransom an equivalence of GH¢4,550 for his release.



In view of the falsified information, he sought the support of the church and other members of the public to assist him raise the ransom for his freedom.

Luck, however eluded him when he was discovered and arrested.

Making an appearance in court on Monday, the Prosecuted prayed the court to remand the accused persons pending the issuance of legal advice from the Director of Public Prosecutions.
