NPP doing more in 3 years than NDC ever did in 8 years – Aboadze Chief

Chief of Aboadze in the Shama District of the Western Region, Nana Kwabena Atom, has lauded President Akufo-Addo and the NPP government for its effective handling of premix fuel-related issues in several communities in the country since it took over the reigns of government in January 2019.

The management of premix fuel has been an issue several governments have had to grapple with over the years but the NPP, it appears, has effectively handled all related issues of premix since 2017, at least, according to Nana Kwabena Atom.

There have been many cases of underhand dealings by ‘cartels’ allegedly hoarding and trading premix at exorbitant prices. Instances of artificial shortages in some communities have led to many struggling to access the product.

Irrespective of the ills associated with the distribution and accountability of premix fuel, Nana Kwabena Atom, the chief of Aboadze, is singing the praise of President Akufo-Addo for his spectacular achievement in this regard. According to Nana Atom, the NPP government in less than 3 years has been able to achieve a feat that was never attained under the 8 eight years of the NDC regime.

The chief believes the sale and distribution of premix fuel currently is more open and transparent than what used to be the case under the 8-year rule of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

He is lauding the President for the singular achievement of setting up premix committees which have done well in shining light on the distribution of the commodity.

“This premix fuel issue we are talking about, Aboadze community has sat down to do our analyses. During the full 8 years of NDC, they never rendered accounts concerning the sale of premix fuel to the community. Frankly speaking as a chief not politician, but within two years of the NPP, accounts have been periodically rendered to the community which never happened within 8 years of NDC. According to the premix committee and the accounts rendered so far, we have been able to accrue profit to the tune of about GHS 50,000. 00,” Nana Kwabena Atom explained.

He further revealed that the community has unanimously agreed to use the profits accrued to undertake developmental projects within the community.
