24 aspirants return nomination forms in the pending NDC primarie

Mr Joseph Nelson, the Western Regional NDC Secretary says 24 out of the 30 aspirants who picked forms for Member of Parliament positions have submitted their forms.

All the three women aspirants and one unopposed aspirant also submitted their forms plus a filing fee of 25000 Ghana cedis for male aspirants and half the amount for female aspirants.

Mr Nelson told the Ghana News Agency in an interview at the Party office in Sekondi that vetting of the aspirants to determine their “fit for the positions applied” would commence on Thursday, July 24, to pave way for the primaries come August 24 in this year.

He said the vetting would ensure that all aspirants were in good standing in the Party and their suitability for the positions they were desiring to contest for, from the 11 constituencies that were opened for nominations.



Six constituencies have been put on hold.

Mr. Nelson said, “though we acknowledge the delay, the six constituencies would undergo same process…The decision to put on hold six constituencies forms part of our broad strategy towards victory 2020”

Delegates from Amenfi West and Central, Mpohor, Wassa East, Jomoro, Ellembelle, Ahanta West, Effia, Sekondi and Shama would be given the opportunity to choose their candidates come August 24 in the pending primaries.
