Sheikh Alhaji Aremeyaw Shaibu spokes person for the National Chief Imam Sheikh Dr. Osmanu Nuhu Sharubutu has said Apenkwa Community should use the rules set for the construction of Astro Turf so that the Turf will last long for the community.
He was speaking at the sod cutting ceremony at the Apenkwa Junior High School today Thursday 1st August, 2019.
The sod cutting will pave way for the construction of an Astro Turf for the people living in and around Apenkwa in the Okaikwei North Municipal Assembly.
Special guests invited for the ceremony were , National Chief Imam , Sheikh Dr. Osmanu Nuhu Sharubutu, Member of Parliament for Okaikwei Central Patrick yaw Boamah , Member of Parliament for Okaikwei North Hon. Fuseini Issah , Municipal chief Executive Hon. Boye Laryea , Municipal coordinating Director Mr. Samuel Amoah , Hon. Abdullah Nii Odai Presiding Member, Dominic Edua GNPC Foundation and Rev. Samuel Agei , Presby Church Apenkwa.
At the ceremony Skeik Alhaji Aremeyaw Shaibu explained that, I am much grateful to the National Chief Imam, the Member of Parliament and the Okaikwei Municipal Assembly to be part of this great ceremony .
According to Skeik Shaibu:“This meeting is very important for our youth and all the exercise which keep us active , keeps the human body strong , if there could be any development we us energy for that , so sports is very important for this country and Apenkwa community”.
“The construction of this Astro Turf will beautify this place when construction is complete, the whole place will change, you will not see rugged ground as you are witnessing now”.
The Astro Turf is part of development of this country and it is important that the community will also get one.
Skeik Alhaji Aremeyaw Shaibu stated that: “This Astro Turf is moving the community forward and it clearly shows that Ghana is moving forward. We live in our homes it is our responsibility that we will all have one mind so that Ghana will move forward, this is what we are proud of, and this is why we are all here together.
“This is why the Chief Imam is here, when we are doing something we should all remember that it’s our property, when it gets spoiled we shall all be blame , when its well, we shall all benefit from it.
He told the people that: “we should all follow the good arrangement for the construction of the Astro Turf, if we fail to follow the arrangement then we end up spoiling things, we will never go forward. It will help us if we will use the rules and regulations set for the Astro Turf”.
The Member of Parliament for Okaikwei Central explained to the gathering that : “We sent a proposal to the Apenkwa Presby Church for the construction of Astro Turf .we also wrote to the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC), then I went to see the National Chief Imam for his support, so he gave us letter for his support.
Honourable Boamah continued :“ I am very glad that all of you are present, when this Astro Turf is done, we will not only play football ,we can have Church Conventions, Parties , Outdooring, we can do all important events here, but I will plead with all of you there should be a maintenance culture
“So that by one year when GNPC inspects the Astro Turf it will be in good condition, we shall also put in good management plan after the construction of the Astro Turf.
He stated that : “Our future children should grow to see this Astro Turf , I will plead with all of you , National Chief Imam ,Member of Parliament, the Okaikwei North Municipal Assembly and all Assembly members to take very good care of the Astro Turf so that we can develop talent within the community and the country as a whole .
