In brief remarks, Ms. Susan Sam, Head of Human Resource, Ernst and Young Ghana indicated that the aim of the scheme was to give scholarship opportunities to brilliant but needy students. Potential beneficiaries, according to Ms. Sam, are mainly students pursuing Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) disciplines adding that even though male students are eligible, female students are highly encouraged to apply for the scholarship.

“This is a full scholarship which covers educational expenses including academic, residential fees, stipend and feeding allowance to enable the students concentrate solely on their academic work and produce excellence results”. Ms. Sam noted.

She was elated that Ernst and Young Ghana, a multinational company which specialises in assurance, tax, transaction and advisory services has decided to donate an amount of GH¢ 23,493.00 to four beneficiaries of its maiden scholarship scheme. She gave the assurance that as part of the package, beneficiaries will be offered internship opportunities in order to introduce them to the corporate world.

He further charged the beneficiaries to reward this kind gesture by living up to expectation and dedicating quality time to their studies in view of the fact that they will forfeit this juicy opportunity if they fall below the required grade point

Financial aid is available to Ghanaian students and is intended to remove the cost barriers that may prevent one from pursuing one’s educational goals

Beneficiaries of the various scholarships offered by the University must be Ghanaian citizens, be enrolled as a regular student in full time programme of study, be able to demonstrate financial need, be brilliant and be making excellent academic progress as determined by the University in order to be in good standing or else forfeit scholarship.
