Rose Yeboah wins Ghana’s first gold

Female high jumper, Amoanimaa Rose Yeboah, grabbed Ghana’s first gold medal at the ongoing African Games in Rabat, Morocco, yesterday with a jump of 1.84m.
Morocco’s Siba Rhizlane came second with a jump of 1.81m to win silver, while Ethiopia’s Ubang Ariyat Dibow placed third and took bronze with a jump of 1.81m.

This is Ghana’s first gold medal at the Rabat Games, having won two gold at the 2015 African Games in Brazzaville, Congo.

This brings to five the total number of medals won by Team Ghana at the games so far after the feats chalked up by weightlifters Winnifred Ntumi and David Akwei, who scooped three bronze and one bronze, respectively.
