There’s pandemonium at the Black Star square in Accra as scores of troubled parents have besieged the premises in the hope of securing secondary school placement for their wards.
The Education ministry has asked students who have not yet been placed to come to the Black Star square today to have their issues addressed.
Starr News Eric Mawuena Egbetta who is at the premises reports officials of the education ministry are yet to show up despite the situation.
The meeting is to secure schools for qualified students who were left unplaced by the compuratised system which allots schools to students based on their grades.
Meanwhile, some first year students and their parents who turned up at the Mfantsipim Senior High School (SHS) in the Central Region with their trunks and chop boxes on Sunday have been left stranded after they were turned away by authorities of the school.
The school’s authorities claim the students who were placed in the school under the self-placement module of the Computerised School Selection Placement System (CSSPS) were wrongly placed; thus they should go back home.
One parent who spoke to Graphic Online said upon arrival at the school, authorities asked them to go back home because her son’s name was not on the list of students who have been placed at the school.
