Some Ghanaians have taken to social media to demand the immediate removal of the Director-General of the Criminal Investigations Department DCOP Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah.
This call follows the announcement by the IGP James Oppong Boanuh, that the human parts found at the suspect’s home were revealed through DNA testing to be that of the Takoradi kidnapped girls.
In an attempt to vent their anger, the hashtag #TiwaaMustGo is widely spreading on twitter. Many are of the view that the DCOP lied when she assured the families of their children’s return earlier this year.
Ghanaians have also expressed their condolences to the bereaved family.
Here are some tweets:
The four missing Takoradi girls confirmed dead-IGP.
Our security agencies must sit up. So sad. The CID boss must resign for misleading their families.— Jamal Cisse (@JamalCisse) September 16, 2019

The CID knew the girls were dead long ago which made Madam Tiwaa to come out to give false hopes. How do you think kidnappers could keep three ladies for almost a year without any mishap?— Journalist Albert 🗣🌏 (@BongoIdeas) September 16, 2019
So we were being told the Takoradi girls were safe and alive, Oh Ghana! 💔💔💔

So the time we were being told the Takoradi girls were safe and alive, they were already dead? Oh Ghana! 💔💔💔
