Pogba ‘to make fresh attempt’ to leave Man Utd during January transfer

Paul Pogba will make a fresh attempt to leave Manchester United during the January transfer window, according to reports.

Pogba, 26, indicated his desire to leave the Red Devils over the summer after emerging as a leading target for Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane.

Although the midfielder stayed at Old Trafford, the La Liga giants are expected to make another move for the French World Cup winner when the window re-opens in January.

And according to the Sun , Pogba is ready to make another push for the exit after reportedly growing dissatisfied with the current situation at the Premier League club.

After a poor start to the season that has seen United take just eight points from their first six league matches, the publication claims that the Frenchman feels Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side is in reverse and he has been frequently blamed for the problems.

Despite suggestions that United are hoping to tie-down their star man to a new contract to ward-off interest from abroad, it is claimed that the midfielder has no intentions of penning a new deal.

Madrid were unable to meet United’s asking price – understood to be around £150m – during the summer and it is believed that the price tag could be main obstacle to a move to the Bernabeu once again.

After a short spell on the sidelines with an ankle injury, Pogba returned to Solskjaer’s starting XI during Wednesday’s penalty shoot-out win over Rochdale.

However, the Red Devils boss turned heads when he decided to name defender Axel Tuanzebe as captain for the Carabao Cup clash ahead of the returning Frenchman.

Despite suggestions that the decision came from a lack of trust in Pogba, Solskjaer insisted that 21-year-old Tuanzebe had earned his chance to wear the armband.

Speaking to talkSPORT , Solskjaer said: “Axel is a captain in the making, he’s a leader- why not give it to young kids?
