‘Prof Do Little’ Mills boldly kicked against homosexuality, ‘Prof Do Plenty’ can you? – Koku dares Akufo-Addo

Former Deputy General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Koku Anyidoho, wants President Akufo-Addo to boldly declare publicly, his stance on homosexuality just as his predecessor the late Professor John Evans Atta Mills did when he was serving as President.

In a clarion call on President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, he called on him to reject the “Comprehensive Sexual Education” (CSE) policy by United Nations, which he believes is a ploy to push gay and lesbianism down the throats of Ghanaians, albeit through pupil education.

According to him, the Comprehensive Sexual Education (CSE) will destroy parenthood as the curriculum will rather persuade children at the early stages of their lives to grow with a homosexual mentality; thereby corrupting the country’s societal norms, values, and beliefs.

Beginning next year, pupils in all public schools, including 4-year olds will be given Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE).

Officials say the subject content would, however, be age-appropriate, so the toddlers would be empowered with values that would protect them from sexual harassment.

The programme has however come under intense criticism.

Commenting on the issue in relation to what transpired during the tenure of the late President John Evans Mills, in an interview on Okay FM’s “Ade Akye Abia” Morning Show, Koku Anyidoho called for a non-partisan approach to tackling the matter since it borders on our moral fibre.

He also took a dig at the present New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration headed by President Akufo-Addo, wondering if this was the reason for the introduction of the free Senior High School (SHS) policy.

“…This is a very major issue we must discuss extensively…

“…Children will come from school and you ask them what they were taught, only to be told that they learnt how to use condoms, getting an orgasm and knowing their sexual preference but not Mathematics, English, Environmental Studies and Science.

“Is this the reason why Free SHS was introduced in the country? This scary subject; is it the reason why they deliberately introduced Free SHS policy so that they gather all the children in schools in order to teach them Comprehensive Sexual Education? To pack our children in the classrooms and teach these kinds of things?” he quizzed.

Throwing a challenge to the current president to follow in the footsteps of the late President Atta Mills who boldly rejected the policy of homosexuality from the British even in the face of threats to cut aid to Ghana, the former NDC Deputy General Secretary said blame for the adoption of the CSE should be laid at the doorstep of government and not the Ghana Education Service (GES).

“President Mills publicly declared that no amount of persuasion or coercion from external factors can compel the country to accept gays or lesbians. That is the mark of a great leader. What is the essence of this Comprehensive Sexual Education then?”

“Who knows the Professor in charge of Ghana Education Service? It is the President of the Republic of Ghana we know and so we will plead with him to tell us something better. President Mills has done that before; he stood on his ground to reject similar offers and at that time, you called him ‘Professor do little’ and if ‘Professor do little’ stood firmly to reject gay and lesbian policy in the country, then you ‘professor do plenty’ who claim to have rolled-out the free SHS policy, we are pleading with you, promise us that the free SHS policy you brought is not there for Comprehensive Sexual Education but rather you meant well for Ghanaians”, he dared the President.
