A group calling itself, Concerned New Patriotic Party Forum (CNPPF) in the Assin South Constituency of the Central Region has descended heavily on their Member of Parliament for the area, John Ntim Fordjour for performing abysmally.
In a statement issued and signed by the group’s Spokesperson, Isaac Addo Essilfie, since Ntim Fordjour became their MP, he has done nothing to improve the living conditions of the electorates.
According to the group in the Assin South Constituency, John Ntim Fordjour house is working against the Akufo Addo led government. The group at a news conference Tuesday 15th October 2019, leveled a series of misconduct against their MP whose conduct, they claim is getting out of hand. The group claims that John Ntim Fordjour (Assin South MP) has been sabotaging the government’s subsidized fertilizer policy by selling some of the products to farmers in the area as a unrealistic price as against the government price.
John Ntim Fordjour, according to the group, has been going from one cocoa town to the other telling the farmers that the Akufo Addo government is being insensitive to their plight for selling subsidized fertilizer to them. Also John Ntim Fordjour has collapsed the afforestation programme in his constituency by telling them that President Akufo Addo is very insensitive to their plight by not provide them vehicle that will commute them to their working place. Again, they accused John Ntim Fordjour of working against the District Chief Executive, Hon Ambrose Derrick Owusu because the DCE is not in support with John Ntim Fordjour wickedness and diabolic agenda by telling some assembly members to sign out of votes of no confidence in him because he is not at peace with the DCE. The MP according to the group, has failed to attend meetings organized by the elected constituency executives led by Hon Kwadjo Konadu Taylor and the polling station executives, and rather set up his executives led by B.K.K who took part in the recent constituency chairmanship election and managed to secure 20 votes out of 680 delegates, parallel to the elected executives. In their estimated on, John Ntim Fordjour’s conduct is getting out of hands, hence should be called to order. We believe that our MP owes the party and the constituents an apology and by this statement, wish to call on him to render a since and unqualified apology and also to do better in the remainder of his term in office, the statement noted.
According to the group, while they are humiliated and embarrassed by the results of the issuing out a fake cheques to some churches in his area and also collecting monies a little over 300 Ghana cedis from his constituents of provide them with electricity meters since 2017 till date. The group also said their MP John Ntim Fordjour has failed to provide them with their meters after taking their monies. This meter issues has generated a lot of unhealthy situation between his constituents and the party as a whole. John Ntim Fordjour together with his personal aides by name Boadi also secretly managed to dumped his people by taking 50 Ghana cedis each from those with the afforestation programme in the aim of organized blood test exercise for them at Abura Dunkwa which did not comes off but he blatantly refuses to return their monies also to them. We are calling him to come out to speak on aforementioned issues rather than discrediting the high earns reputation of our noble and hardworking leaders ( DCE, Hon Derrick Owusu Ambrose, Hon Konadu Taylor, Hon Fred Owusu Aduomi and Hon Yaw Barima) leaders, Ntim Fordjour should stop his outmoded and the childish politics because the people of Assin South deserve better.
Again, since winning the seat, John Ntim Fordjour has proceeded to systematically decimate the confidence and trust party delegates and voters reposed in him by electing as candidate and MP respectively.
In Assin South now, there is great disappointment in the performance of the John Ntim Fordjour and a growing determination to revoke the appointment that we, as delegates and voters, gave him in the 2016 elections, they intimated.
The group added that John Ntim Fordjour has collected monies from his Constituents of providing them meters and issuing a fake cheques to churches in his constituency and the delegates as well.
Since becoming an MP, John Ntim Fordjour has failed in his primary duty of providing passionate and effective advocacy for the constituency and the party. Our concerns as a constituency are not brought to national attention so we can have solutions, the statement emphasized. We do not see our John Ntim Fordjour as the champion that he should be for Assin South so we ask, does he not care? Or is he unable to?
Despite several promises that John Ntim Fordjour made during his campaign, John Ntim Fordjour has failed to attend to the many developmental and infrastructural challenges that we face in the constituency. Voters in the constituency keep asking us, as party activists, why the MP we presented to them has failed to deliver on the promises that we helped him sell to them. To be certain, he has access to the same common fund that other MP’s have so why do we see other MP’s doing better than he does?
Since he became our MP, divisions in the constituency have intensified. He has unlike other representatives we have had, completely sidelined those who do not pledge absolute fealty to him personally.
Disagreement is seen as disloyalty and alternative views are treated as heresey. This is not the character of a democrat, this is not how we have done things in Assin South NPP. As the political leader of the constituency, he must take ultimate responsibility for cohesion and unity in the constituency.
For these and many other reasons that we will not get into today, we were not at all surprised that a survey of voters in this constituency showed that he was the worst and among the worst performing MPs in the country. We know and believe that Assin South deserves better. We know and believe that Assin South can do better. We know and we believe that it is time for John Ntim Fordjour to give way to someone better than him to represent the hopes and aspirations of Assin South constituency.
Since 1992, this constituency has always been represented by the NPP. This continued confidence is now at risk due to the actions and inactions of John Ntim Fordjour our current representative. For the first time ever, we sense some reluctance in the constituency to give us the overwhelming mandate in the next elections that we have always had. This must not be allowed to happen. Assin South and NPP cannot be torn apart by John Ntim Fordjour, it will not happen.
We wish to assure all voters in the constituency that President Nana Addo and the NPP are as dedicated and committed to the welfare of Assin South as we ever been and we will soon see a change.
In the meantime, we insist that John Ntim Fordjour should render an apology for his superfluous conduct to date and commit himself to be a better representative for the remainder of his term in office.
He should therefore come out and apologized for his deceitful lifestyle by issuing out fake cheques to the delegates and the churches in his constituency.
Long live Assin South Constituency.
Long live NPP
Long live Ghana.
Thank you
Signed
Isaac Addo Essilfie.
