We’ll ‘chop off’ any finger that dares point at Mahama – Haruna warns

Detractors, abusers and unfair critics of former president John Mahama, now opposition leader of the NDC have been warned to be cautious in their utterances against him.

An avid supporter of former president served this notice following the unpleasant verbal attack on Mr Mahama by an Asempa FM presenter.

According to him, they are ready to ‘cut off’ any finger in Gonjaland pointed at former President John Dramani Mahama in a disparaging manner ahead of the 2020 general elections.

“Hope those from Gonjaland who always have the guts to say nasty things about former President John Dramani Mahama are monitoring the current situation between a presenter of Accra based Asempa FM Nana Akua Acheampomaa Sarfo-Adu and NDC members and well-meaning Ghanaians resulting in both the woman and Asempa apologising unreservedly…Yes they could not contain the social media storm,” Mahama Haruna who is the General Manager of Bole-based Nkilgi FM stated in an interview monitored by MyNewsGh.com

He added, “I can assure those from Gonjaland who feel they can always go on Facebook and Whatsapp to insult John Mahama that, they are in for trouble beginning January 2020 because we will replicate what has just happened in Gonjaland”.

His comments were in reaction to some unsavoury words used by the Multimedia journalist to describe a viral video which captured Mr Mahama mowing at the new military cemetery close to his home.

It would be recalled that Nana Akua Acheampomaa Sarfo-Adu while on presenting a political show dubbed “Kanewu” used abusive language in her criticism of the NDC flagbearer over his act.

According to her, no former president in the world engages in such political gimmicks and called on him to know that Ghanaians will not be swayed by such stunts.

“Why didn’t he [Mahama] go the Awudome cemetery? Why didn’t he take cutlass to weed but used mower?” Ghanaians, they think we’re fools. Politicians think we’re blind and deaf. They think Ghanaians are dumb like them,” she said.

“Which president have you seen taking a mower to go and weed,” she asked.
