GRIDCo blames massive blackout on ‘system disturbance’

The Electricity company of Ghana has blamed the widespread blackout in parts of the country on a technical beyond their country.

Parts of Accra and several parts of Kumasi were hit with long hours of power outages Tuesday evening. Power was subsequently restored to some areas while others continued to endure darkness.

Power distributor ECG in a statement on the development said it was out of their control while GRIDCO blamed the situation on system disturbance.
