CDD reacts to Akufo-Addo’s 72 per cent grading

IMANI, in a latest assessment of the promises made by President Nana Akufo-Addo in the run-up to the 2016 elections concluded that only 48.78 percent of the promises have been fulfilled.

The report further indicated out of the 510 promises made by government, only 27 per cent of them have been fully fulfilled, with 21.75 per cent partially fulfilled.

However, President Akufo-Addo at a media encounter disagreed with IMANI’s conclusion, indicating that he has fulfilled 72 per cent of the promises made.

The Center for Democratic Development (CDD-Ghana), an independent, non-governmental and non-profit research and advocacy institute has reacted to President Akufo-Addo’s grading and has further given a general overview of the media encounter.

IMANI Figures

Imanifesto is a progress report which seeks to validate the promises made by the NPP in the run-up to the 2020 polls and how many of those promises have been accomplished three years on.

It assessed areas of governance, economy, social sector, infrastructure and human capital investment.

IMANI gave the 48.78% in its 2019 Imanifesto report.

The policy think tank also scored the government 54.35% for its handling of the economy. The manifesto assessments by IMANI which was outdoored Wednesday said government has only implemented 41 out of the 162 promises it made in the party’s 2016 manifesto.
