Assembly polls: Confusion rocks Trom over candidate positions on ballot paper

There is confusion at two polling stations at Trom electoral Area in the New Juaben south municipality over the position of candidates on ballot papers in the ongoing district-level polls.

One of the candidates, Ernest Afrifa withdrew from the race few weeks to the polls. The EC assured his name will not be on the ballot.  Therefore, the fourth Candidate-Edward Brobbey-Gyasi on the initial list was to be placed third on the ballot, however that did not happen.

This created confusion as supporters of the Edward Brobbey-Gyasi agitated against the EC for deception.

According to them, they campaigned on number three(#3) position based on the assurance by the EC that he will be placed on the third position.

The disagreement lingered on for a while delaying the voting process for an hour but both candidates reached an agreement with the EC official to fold and clip off the third candidate who stepped down.

The candidates contesting are Fetor Tsormana Emmanuel, Charlotte Owusu and Edward Brobbey-Gyasi.

Voting in Trom M/A JHS Polling station “A” and “B” is disturbing students writing exams under same valander with EC officials.
