Marry before sex: Church of Christ singles told

Unmarried members of the Churches of Christ have been advised to remain chaste till they get married.

The call, according to a Kumasi-based minister of Christ, brother Prince Andoh, was necessary because engaging in premarital sex before marrying, apart from sinning against God, often brings misfortunes to marriages.

Preacher Prince Andoh was addressing Church of Christ members from the various Colleges of Education across Ghana during a Thanksgiving service to end their second annual Seven (7) Days Youth Evangelism program at Anto-Aboso in the Shama District of the Western region (WR) on Sunday.

“You’re royal priesthoods and do not forget the purpose of your coming here; you came to preach the gospel to the lost in these communities so don’t let it be like you are being just a signpost for the people you came to preach to, thus, you’re showing people the direction to the heaven but you yourself do not want to be there…..at your age, a lot of things pop up of which lust is not exceptional but please be careful and stay away from premarital sex until you marry, I know it is not an easy task but you have to know where you’re heading to because, one, premarital sex is a sin against God, yes it is, because it’s what we call fornication, and then also, it often brings some spiritual misfortunes into ones personal life even after you have married….. so even if it has left with one hour for the two of you to get married, never engage in sex until you get married fully,” Bro. Andoh lamented adding, “I believe some of you sitting here looking innocent have been engaging in such act; jumping and moving around sleeping with men and women thinking that you’re smart, my brother or sister you are playing with fire and you do not know….. you must pray to God seriously for forgiveness of sin.”

He further advised them not to marry someone because of the person’s beauty but rather they must always pray to God for right partner.

Speaking on the topic: “You May Be Living On A Borrowed Time”, he expressed his joy over the students’ decision to, despite their heavy loaded academic activities, had decided to help spread the gospel of Christ at any given opportunity and urged them to remain faithful to God for death is inevitable.

Some of the participated colleges were Komenda College of Education,(Komenda) OLA College of Education (Cape Coast), Fosu College of Education (Assin Fosu), Holy Child College of Education (Takoradi), Akrokerri College of Education (Akrokerri), St Monica’s College of Education (Kumasi), St. Louis College of Eduation(Kumasi), Kibi Presbyterian College of Education (Kibi), Accra College of Education (Accra), Atebubu College of Education (Atebubu), Offinso College of Education (Offinso) Mampong Technical College of Education(Asante Mampong) and Wesley College of Education.
