GUSA LadiesFootball: Faradey 4 goals shakes UPSA Team After UG 5:0 win

Striker of the Female Soccer Team of the University of Ghana, Faradey Kafui Fumey, led her team to victory as she scored 4goals in the first half against neighboring institution University of Professional Studies (UPSA) in the on going GUSA 2020.

Faradey led the UG team in the 12th minute of game play with a goal and subsequently added a hat trick after Jennifer Mensah joined the score sheet in the 16th minuted.

UG Ladies football team dominated UPSA from the first half through to the end of game. Portia Asante, goal keeper of the UG was intermittently tested in the first 20minutes as she conveniently handled the balls.

Reacting to the 5 : 0 victory , Faradey expressed that it was a team effort and thanked the technical team and fans for the support.

“…I can’t take the glory alone, it was a team effort and am happy the technical team directed us well and fans came out in their numbers to support Team legon,..” she said.



Speaking to the motivation behind their teams victory, Faraday mentioned that the ladies soccer team has not won the main GUSA before ever since she joined the team. She is poised the Team is ready to go all out for victory.

“…our ladies team had not won Main GUSA before ever since I joined the team. Now we are very motivated and ready to make legon proud…” She expressed.

Faraday mentioned that she set her personal target to score at least 10goals in 5 matches and take UG to victory in the tournament.

“… I set my target to score at least 10goals in 5matches and the way things are going, I need to revise my target and increase the goals…” she said.

Meanwhile, UG ladies will face ark rivals University of Cape Coast (UCC) on Wednesday January 8, 2020 at the Main Field at 9am.
