‘1V1D is the most useless government initiative I’ve seen in my life’ – UDS Lecturer

Development Economist and Senior Lecturer at the University for Development Studies, Dr. Michael Ayamga Adongo has described government’s ‘One Village One Dam’ initiative as the ‘most useless venture’ to have ever been undertaken by any government.

According to him, the initiative does not make sense and has been a perfect opportunity to dissipate public funds and destroy the environment.

Dr. Adongo has consistently criticized government over its flagship programs including the Free Senior High School (SHS) policy, One District, One Factory amongst others.

In an interview on Bolgatanga-based A1 Radio monitored by MyNewsGh.com, the ardent critic of the NPP government likened government’s much touted promises and initiatives to balloons hanging in the air for grabs.

“I have maintained that you need just common sense to know that it is not possible to have a dam in every village in the north of this country. What they are doing is a destruction of our environment and in fact this one village one dam initiative is the most useless venture I have ever seen in my life undertaken by a government” he said.
