I thought JOY was a presidential material - John Sterlin

I thought JOY was a presidential material – John Sterlin

“I had been admiring and respecting this young guy for all that while until his pronouncement yesterday…… in fact I had thought that guy was a presidential material not knowing he is not,” these were words of John Sterlin, the Progressive People’s Party’s (PPP) 2016 parliamentary candidate for the Komenda Edina Eguafo Abrem (KEEA) constituency, directed to Mr Jacob Osei Yeboah popularly known as JOY, the 20l6 independent presidential candidate.

Mr Sterlin’s comment follows some remarks reported to have been made by JOY about Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom, the president of Groupe Nduom and PPP’s 20l6 presidential candidate.

He is reported to have advised Dr Nduom not to dare contesting in the upcoming general elections for some angry customers of his (Nduom) defunct financial institutions may pelt stones at him when they see him on a podium campaigning.

But speaking on Benya FM’s morning show dubbed ”Ghana Yesuom”, on Wednesday, Mr Sterlin described JOY’s pronouncements as unfortunate and said the happenings in Dr Nduom’s financial institution should not be used to mock at him (Dr Nduom).

“So is that what he (JOY) is going to use for his campaign in 2020?…… in fact I’m really sad… I’m sad about what the guy has said…..eiiii a serious issue like this you want to joke with it?….oh, is that how that guy is? all that while I thought he was a gentleman not knowing he’s not”, Mr Sterlin lamented.

“Who in this country did not know GN bank and Gold Coast Fund Management before the revocation of their licenses…… they had employed more than 3,000 Ghanaians working with them earning salaries and if this government has tried to bring Dr Nduom down, you are there mocking at him?….and you want to become president of this country?,” he added and called on him to find better message for his campaign and leave GN alone saying, latest development about the pending court case shows that it was a deliberate attempt by the government to collapse the banks and believes “the dust will settle” for the banks to be on their stand.

The two time defeated parliamentary candidate revealed further that he was strongly contesting in the 2020 parliamentary elections and was optimistic that he would win the KEEA seat.
