TORCH BEARERS GROUP EMBARKS ON CLEAN-UP EXERCISE

The Torch bearers, a group within the New Patriotic Party in Assin Foso Municipality, at Jomsco Park area in Assin Foso on Saturday 7th March 2020, organized a Five-hour clean-up exercise.

About 100 members of the group started the exercises from Jomsco Basic school , desilting choked gutters, sweeping and weeding along the street within the Affutuakwa electoral area and ended at the front of the Jomsco Park.

Speaking to the Media, the leader of the group Prince Adjei, popularly known as Kafalgin said, “cleanliness is next to Godliness ”

Adding that, they decide to embark on the clean up exercise to ensure environmental hygiene in the area.
He noted that, cleaning surrounding would protect the residents from contacting diseases such as malaria and cholera.

He also said, members of the group would regularly undertake the exercise to rig the area of filth.

Mr. Prince Adjei appealed to the people to keep their surrounding clean, a responsibility, which according to him should not be relegated to the Assin Foso Municipal Assembly and the Government alone

The Patron of the group , Mr. Atakorah Amanianpong also congratulated the members for partaking in the exercise to let the President of the republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo-Addo dream of making Accra and Ghana cleanest Country come true.

He also encourage them to continuesly engage themselves in making sanitation their priority in the Municipality.
