Ashanti Gold skipper Shafiu Mumuni has expressed his readiness to play for regional rivals Asante Kotoko in the 2019/20 Ghana Premier League.
Mumuni has been linked with a move to the Porcupine Warriors as coach Maxwell Konadu is keen on strengthening his front-line for the second round of the league which is currently suspended due to the outbreak of coronavirus.
The club made several attempts to sign the highly-rated forward but a deal couldn’t materialise last season.
According to the 24-year-old, he is yet to receive an offer from the Kumasi-based side, however he is ready to play for them.
“I have heard the rumour in the media linking me to Asante Kotoko but they haven’t been any official approach but I’m ever ready to play for them. It’s a matter of negotiation and whether I will be content with the amount they will offer,” he told Kumasi FM 104.1 MHZ.
Mumuni scored four goals in four matches in the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Confederation Cup late last year for Ashanti Gold, however, the Miners could not progress to the group phase of the competition.
He led the Black Stars B to place second in the West African Football Union (WAFU) tournament in Senegal and won the goal king award after scoring four goals in five matches.
