Kwesi Mantey is a man of the people; Buabeng Asamoah to test his political mettle once again at Adenta

As the New Patriot Party (NPP) goes to the polls on April 25, to elect parliamentary candidates for their respective constituencies, one person who is the obvious choice of the people and has made a significant mark in the annals of the NPP administration in the Adenta constituency and poses a threat to the incumbent MP for the area, Yaw Buabeng Asamoah is Mr. Emmanuel Kwesi Mantey.

The fire brand has been with the party from Tudu in Accra to koforidua after taken up several leadership roles and also continues to work tirelessly at Adenta constituency for the party he so much cherishes.

Mr Mantey is a hotel consultant, sports administrator with an extensive background in marketing.

He has also worked in places such as Swiss spirit Alisa Hotels, Holiday Inn, Royal Nick Hotel, Atlantic Hotel in Takoradi among others, and now the Director and board member at the Airport west hotel in Accra.

Apart from Mr. Mantey’s huge experience in the hotel and tourism industry across the globe especially in the African continent, he was also among some few people who were instrumental in capturing the Adenta seat for the NPP in both the parliamentary and presidential elections in 2016.

Interacting with some youth and following his political exploits over the years in the constituency showed that Mr. Mantey has made humongous contributions in diverse ways to support the development of the party at the regional, constituency and at the national level.

Fund Raiser For Nana Addo and YB For 2016 Campaign

Mr Emmanuel Kwesi Mantey mobilized funds from his friends and business partners to finance 2016 campaign and the general elections.

He was Nana Addo’s main Polling Agent together with Hon. YB during the Presidential Primaries in the Adentan Constituency for election 2016.

According to them, Emmanuel Kwesi Mantey also known as (EKM) has worked through thick and thin to ensure the success of the party in the area. especially towads mobilising resources for some activities of the party, which included campaigns among others.

Some delegates have therefore vowed to unseat Yaw Buabeng Asamoa and give Kwesi Mantey the nod to represent them in parliament in Jan. 2021

Other competing aspirants are Freda Agyemang, Rahman Zak and Alfred Ababio Kumi.




With a little over 700 delegates in the constituency, can Kwesi Mantey who holds a lot of clout and stands tall among the other candidates be able to beat and increase the votes margin of about 1,364 between the incumbent Yaw Buabeng Asamoah and Mohammed Adamu Ramadan who polled 33,952 and 32,588 respectively in 2016?

In an interview, the optimistic political stalwart said “I know the delegates won’t let me down, they will speak on that day.

I will however advice politicians especially other colleague candidates to desist from using defamatory and uncultured statements as this will not only lead to political tensions and rivalry but disaffection among members of the same party seeking to capture power to improve the lives of the people of Adenta”.

On the subject of COVID-19, he cautioned the youth to stringently follow the directives outlined by the president in order not to endanger their lives as Government makes effort to fight against the deadly disease.
