The opposition National Democratic Congress and former President John Mahama have donated items to the Ridge Hospital for the fights against the global pandemic – Coronavirus.
The Items included PPEs for the frontline workers and food items as well as water.
The Ridge Hospital is one of the dedicated centres for the virus in Ghana.
Ghana’s COVID-19 cases have jumped to 152 with 10 new confirmation in Tamale as at Sunday, March 29,
The death toll still stands at five.
“Ten (10) of the new cases were among persons who were under mandatory quarantine in Tamale under the direction of the Regional Security Committee of the Northern Region.
The 10 cases were Guinean residents who travelled through Burkina Faso and Togo to Ghana and were picked following intelligence report. The eleventh case was recorded in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region,” the Ghana Health Service announced.
Ghana’s total cases now stand at 152 with five deaths.
An update by the GHS stated that a total of 2,519 persons have been tested for COVID-19 in Ghana.
Among persons under mandatory quarantine, 79 representing 6.2% tested positive. Among samples tested from routine surveillance, sixty-two (62) representing 5.0% tested positive.
Only three regions have so far reported cases- the Greater Accra, Ashanti and Upper West Regions from routine disease surveillance.
