Multiple donations pour in for Covid-19 fight

Multiple donations have poured in to assist efforts of government aimed at supporting infected persons of the Covid-19 pandemic as well as arresting the spread of coronavirus in Ghana.

Companies and institutions such as the Sunon Asogli Power Ghana Limited, Africa World Airlines Limited (AWA), Ekumfi Fruits & Juices Limited and the Triumphant Baptist Church, Kwadaso, Kumasi of the Ghana Baptist Convention, today, Sunday the 29th of March 2020, were the latest institutions to present their donations.




ASOGLI AND AWA

Sunon Asogli Power Ghana Limited and Africa World Airlines Limited through their leadership, Togbe Afede XIV, President of the National House of Chiefs, Chairman of Sunon Asogli Power Ghana Limited, Yang Qun and Co-Chairman of Africa World Airlines Limited, Luo Cheng, presented two hundred thousand dollars ($200,000.00) to support government’s efforts.

BAPTIST CONVENTION

The Kwadaso branch of the Ghana Baptist Convention, on the other hand, presented a cheque amount of one hundred thousand Cedis (GHc 100,000.00) to government. The presentation was done by the Vice President responsible for Administration, Rev. Washington Komla Darke and the Vice President responsible for Ministries, Rev. Enoch Thompson, all of the Ghana Baptist Convention.



EKUMFI FRUITS

Frederick Kwabena Akwaa, Director of Operations, Ekumfi Fruits and Juices Limited presented five thousand boxes of its “rich in vitamin C” flagship product, Ekumfi Pure Juice, to be given to Covid-19 patients to help boost their immune systems.

CHIEF OF STAFF

The Chief of Staff at the Office of the President, Madam Akosua Frema Osei Opare, received the donations on behalf of government. She registered the gratitude of the state to the donors and pledged that the funds and products will be put to good use for the benefit of the needy, vulnerable and Ghanaians who are to be negatively impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic.
