Dr. Sa-Ad Iddrisu Donates PPE To Residents Of Tamale

Executive Director of ‘We the People Matter Movement’, Dr. Sa-ad Iddrisu, has donated about 500 protective nose masks to the residents of Tamale.

The distribution covered various market men and women, taxi drivers, yellow yellow drivers, street hawkers and shoppers within the central business district of Tamale.
‘We The People Matter Movement’, a Northern base Non-governmental organization donated the over five hundred masks and personal protective equipment (PPE) to market women and tricycle operators on the belief that, various organization and individuals have made efforts delivering PPE to government and health facilities but forgot of the vulnerable and persons on our streets, markets and lorry stations.

As part of the organization social responsibilities the group also used the oppotunity to educate the traders on the dangers and precoursionary measures to follow as they go about their businesses.
The movement also expressed serious worry towards the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic in the region, which has seen an increase number of infections to 34 in the region.




Nurse Darling Ramatu Abdulai who presented the items on behalf of the executive director, Dr. Sa_ad Iddirisu, explained that the organization finds it necessary to come to the aid of the market women, street hawkers and business people in this trying times in order to help them protect themselves against the spread of Covid 19 which is making live difficult for people globally.

“We are doing this as one of our social intervention to help our market women to be safe from the Covid 19 because the traders and tricycle operators deal directly with people from different places and may not know who is having the Virus so them protecting themselves is the main reason why we are distributing these five hundred face masks”, she said.

Nurse Ramatu further stated that, the donation is also targeting under aged children who are also in the market doing head porting and villagers who are coming to the metropolis for business activities.

She also advice the public to observed the safety protocol the Ghana health service have outline to stop the spread of the virus in the region.
