International Women empowerment NGO CAMFED has commended the Ministry of Health and the Ghana Health Service for proactive health Interventions that have supported Ghana’s fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
The NGO specifically hailed the Zipline Drone Medical Supply services providing real-time transportation of COVID-19 samples to testing centres with the use of its drone technology.
CAMFED is further impressed with the various emergency health lines and ambulances that were deployed to respond to distress calls from suspected COVID 19 patients.
Ghana’s COVID 19 case count has clocked the ten thousand mark as the health service continues to pursue aggressive contact tracing, testing and treatment.
Speaking on the CAMFED hour on the Ultimate Brunch a CAMFED Beneficiary and Rep Emilia Musa noted that, “Even though we have teething challenges in our health system, COVID 19 has assisted the country to clearly identify the problems we need to solve.”
“A clear intervention that has been most helpful is the helplines and the Zipline Drones which has helped in transporting test kits and samples to the testing centres,” she commended.
A member of the Beneficiary Education Team Olivia Akanisey outlined that CAMFED is reaching out to young girls in less endowed communities as well as clusters of traders to reinforce COVID 19 Infection Prevention and Control measures.
She was confident such interventions will scale up the education as women constitute one of the strongest forces of passing on advocacy to larger families.
As part of its drive, CAMFED hour is hosted on Kumasi based Ultimate 106.9 fm on the Ultimate BRANCH between eleven and twelve noon on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
