At least 24 COVID-19 patients are battling for their lives with four of them on ventilators, the Ghana Health Service said on Thursday.
Of the figure, 10 of the cases have been classified as critical of which four are on ventilators. The 14 others have been placed in the severe category as health officials monitor their situation around the clock.
The University of Ghana Medical Centre has eight of the critical patients on admission, the Ga East and Komfo Anokye Hospitals have four each, three are at Korle Bu with the 37 Hospital having two.
The Ho Hospital and Nyaho Clinic have two and one respectively.
Ghana’s caseload
Ghana’s COVID-19 case count has risen to 10,358 following the confirmation of 157 new cases on Thursday.
The update also indicates that 69 more people have recovered from the disease, increasing the tally for recoveries to 3,824.
Ghana has so far done a total of 240,204 tests since March 2020.
