The Nigerian government has announced that President Akufo-Addo has apologised to President Muhammadu Buhari over the demolition of a building at the Nigerian High Commission in Ghana.
“President Nana Akufo-Addo of Ghana Tuesday spoke with President Muhammadu Buhari, expressing his sincere apology for demolition of a building on the premises of Nigerian High Commission in Accra, Ghana.
“In a telephone call, the Ghanaian leader told President Buhari that he has directed full investigation into the incident,” the Nigerian government said in a statement.
The statement added: “Earlier in the day, it further emerged that some suspects had been arrested, and will be arraigned in court”.
The building which is believed to be a residency was reportedly razed down with a bulldozer by unidentified men. Subsequently, a local chief said the construction was trespassing his stool land. The Police are investigating the matter.
