PATRIOTIC TEACHER TRAINEES DIVULGED A PRESS RELEASE BY GhaTT

The attention of Patriotic Teacher Trainees has been drawn to a press release by a purported group calling it’self Ghana Trainees Teachers(GhaTT) endorsing the selected running mate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and tiding an ocean of appreciation on her.

We the Patriotic Teacher Trainees will like to state unequivocally that: ” the purported group is not recognized by the teaching fraternity in Ghana and their press release does not represent the views of the Teacher Trainees in Ghana”. They are NDC political goons with opaque NDC political lens working for their selfish interest intended to seek political favour from their leaders in the largest opposition party of the country(NDC). Opportunistic and chameleonic MUTAWAKIL IBEN NASRULLAH , for a reason so obvious to himself and his kingpins published that release for their personal interest.



The glowing tributes, the niceties and the praises he showered on Prof. Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang is an indication of his cheap political agenda.
It would be a moral failure and memory deficit on the part of Teacher Trainees to endorse Prof. Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang who under her watch as education minister, her performance denotes She is the worst minister in the history of this country. She displayed gross incompetence and selfishness as our educational system continued to decline under her watch.
Ghana recorded the worst educational statistics in the history of this country as Ghana came last in the international cooperative test(OECD’S PISA TEST) among 76 countries( https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://buzzghana.com/latest-global-school-rankings-ghana-crashes-to-the-bottom/&ved=2ahUKEwi-xuajtNnqAhUyRxUIHTSeDiUQFjABegQICBAB&usg=AOvVaw2xAH_i4X8aAZtIPuTrUKWX ) instead of she reforming the trend she chose to pull the country out of the intellectual program. She also championed the cancellation of the teacher training allowance.
It is sad to note that under her watchful eye employment of graduate teachers became problematic , this saw the springing up of the unemployed graduate association of Ghana, this is a proof of her incompetence.
She was a staunch criticizer of the free SHS policy,She presided over the near-collapse of the scholarships Secretariat.Students on Foreign Scholarships were always complaining because their fees and other allowances were always in arrears( https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://www.ghanaweb.com/GhanaHomePage/NewsArchive/Scholarship-Secretariat-on-its-knees-No-pesewa-from-government-for-ten-years-Registrar-620288&ved=2ahUKEwiOt4-FutnqAhXinVwKHY0pC9sQFjAAegQIAhAB&usg=AOvVaw1coooEfOGnIRgTpq2k4xlt) and her handing over note further prove her incompetence claim as it was revealed that special schools in the country has not been paid government’s subventions for two year running.



It will be recalled that she openly insulted teacher trainees and ask us to opt out of the profession if we can’t undergo teacher training without allowance, a further proof of her selfishness.

We Patriotic Teacher Trainees find it stereotypical of a leader who is robbed of vision to rely on gender strategy and gender nomenclature in his attempt to ride to the top. Teacher Trainees would not comply to the cajole of endorsing a running mate who was chosen as result of the scarcity of good political material. Why was Mrs.Konadu Agyemang Rawlings denied to lead their party? if they really meant to empower women, why didn’t Mr.John Dramani Mahama set aside for a woman to be their flag bearer?. We have not forgotten the “FONKA WAR”. Nobody can pull a wool over our eyes about the woman who treated teaching profession with no respect, dwarfed our educational sector to bench and an anathema to the students in the colleges at her time as Education Minister. We hereby disassociate ourselves from the press release by the so called GhaTT and urge Ghanaians to treat their press release as a cheap political trash.
