An advice has been going to Ghanaians especially Pregnant women to be more conscious of the Hepatitis B virus, Western North Regional Health Promotion Officer Mr Abubakari Abudardai has said.
Hepatitis B is Chronic and sometimes can be transmitted from mother to child when conceived , so pregnant women should attend hospital regular to check their status on the virus.
Mr Abubakari Abudardai in an interview with polo Esposito on DBDB , following the World Hepatitis B Day cerebrated 28th July every year . ” In 2020 the theme is ‘ Find the Missing Millions’ whereby Worldwide , 290 million people living with viral Hepatitis unaware.
He also advised Ghanaians on some food’s that can harm the system when taking in excess particularly those with Hepatitis status should avoid such food like local alcoholic gin , fresh meat etc .
According to WHO report, over 600,000 people die yearly through Hepatitis B virus.
