Ghana: Eight more COVID-19 deaths recorded

Eight more persons have succumbed to the deadly COVID-19 in Ghana, taking the country’s death toll to 256.

The total case count of the highly infectious disease now stands at 43,094 with a total of 40,963 people either recovered or discharged.

The current active cases has dropped slightly from 1,949 to 1,875 with 101 new cases recorded, the Ghana Health Service has announced on its website.

Of the active cases, 16 and six persons are in severe and critical conditions respectively.



Three others are on ventilators.

On tests conducted, 429,773 have been done so far at a positivity rate of 10.0.

156,645 of the tests are samples from routine surveillance out of which 16, 792 have tested positive with a positive rate of 10.7.
