AFIGYA KWABRE NORTH NADMO SUPPORT FIRE VICTIMS WITH RELIEF ITEMS.

The National Disaster Management Organization in Afigya Kwabre North district on the 29th of September presented relief items to some selected fire victims and others whose buildings have been ripped off by a rainstorm in the district.

According to the district NADMO director, Nana Boakye Yiadom, 15 selected beneficiaries are victims of fire outbreak and victims affected by rainstorm.

The fire outbreak and the rainstorm some occurred last year in the affected communities that is; Abroma, Esaase, Amoako, Danase, Habitat and Boamang destroyed properties of over 35 residents living in Afigya Kwabre North district in the Ashanti region.

The items presented are 100 bags of Cements,10 packets of roofing sheets, bags of rice, assorted soap, blankets, cooking oil, mosquito nets, mosquito coils, mattresses, plastic buckets, bowls and other items.

The Afigya Kwabre North district National Disaster Management Organization director called on the public to be mindful in handling fires to minimize the occurrence of fire outbreaks in the district.

Speaking in an interview with Time FM’s journalist Kaakyire Kwasi Afari, the director said there is the need for all to be very careful when setting fires and also put all their electrical gadgets off after usage and when leaving the house.

Mr Charles Fodjour, one of the 15 beneficiaries of the donation urged the Government to give more resource to agencies managing disasters in the country to ensure their prompt and efficient operation.

Others told Kaakyire Kwasi Afari that, the gesture would go a long way to alleviate their plight and pledged to take precautionary measures to forestall future occurrences of such disasters.



They commended and heap’s blessings on president Nana Addo, the Afigya Kwabre North District Assembly and the NADMO for the swift relief support to alleviate them from their hardships.

The Afigya Kwabre North district Chief Executive, hon Karikari Acheamfour in his address asked residents, NPP party members and particularly, the Opposition NDC party to vote massively for president Nana Addo to renew his mandate so his government can consolidate the gains chalked since his assumption of office.

The DCE stated that, his newly created district have had a fair share of infrastructural development under the NPP’s policy interventions thus, adding more vote to the victory of the New Patriotic Party is nonnegotiable.

Mr Karikari Acheamfour reveals that Afigya Kwabre North district will soon cut sod to commence the construction of district Court and a new hospital, a benefit from the government’s “agenda 111” program of establishing new hospitals to 111 districts without hospitals.
