2020 Polls: We’re battle ready for Hohoe seat -NDC

The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has served notice that it will not relinquish the Hohoe parliamentary seat to any other political party come December 7.

As the elections approach, campaign activities are heating up in the Hohoe conStituency with the NDC’s Prof. Margaret Kweku resolute on retaining a seat that has always been won by the NDC and John Peter Amewu of the NPP going keenly to win what has never been won by his party the NPP.

But addressing party folks during Prof. Kweku’s campaign launch in Hohoe on Sunday, the General Secretary of the party, Asiedu Nketiah among other speakers cautioned that the Hohoe seat is non-negotiable and remains a bonafide seat for the NDC.

“I have come here to launch the campaign and I have these very important messages on my chest, that’s why I decided to be part of this campaign launch. Many people have spoken about the quality of your candidate, you’ve been with her, you know what she can do.”

General Mosquito went on to caution the NPP’s candidate John Peter Amewu against attempts to hoodwink electorates by dishing out monies to them; noting that he Amewu is good at that.

“…but tell him, [John Peter Amewu] that the Hohoe seat is non-negotiable. It’s an NDC seat and before you go to Parliament, you must belong to the right party that will speak to the right needs of the people of Volta region and Hohoe. You cannot, you cannot, belong to a political party that will treat the people of Hohoe as second class citizens and when it comes to elections, you will come and dish out monies.”

The NDC chief scribe further, implored the Hohoe Zongo folks to resist the attempt of being bought by John Peter Amewu.

Speaking on behalf of the NDC, Volta MPs Caucus, Chairman and MP for Ho West, Emmanuel Kwesi Bedzrah warned Hohoe residents against voting skirt and blouse.

He said the caucus cannot afford to loose a single seat in the Volta region to John Peter Amewu and the NPP who are only interested in building an exclusive society that would benefit families and friends only.
