Savelugu Municipal hospital partially shut down over Covid surge

The Savelugu Municipal Hospital has partially shut down its OPD services to the general public after some staff tested positive for COVID-19.



The partial closure of the facility became necessary after the entire staff of the hospital went through mandatory mass testing due to the upsurge of cases among workers of the facility.

Over 60 health workers tested positive for Covid-19 after the mandatory testing.

Sources say there are still some samples at the laboratory yet to be tested.

Ghana has so far recorded a total of 80,253 cases of Covid-19 with 598 new cases recorded.

73,018 people have recovered and discharged with a total of 577 deaths. Meanwhile, the current active cases in Ghana have dropped slightly to 6,658.
