Over 70 suspected criminals have been arrested by the Kasoa Divisional Police Command in the Central Region during a massive swoop.
According to the Divisional Police Command, they are going to intensify security in Kasoa to reduce the continuous killings and robberies in the area.
In an interview with EIB Network’s Central Regional Correspondent Yaw Boagyan, the Kasoa Divisional Police Commander Chief Superintendent Charles Ampem Koosonu revealed that they are going to shake Kasoa and its environs.
He said those criminals will be put before the court from Thursday.
According to the Police Commander, over 200 additional police personnel have been deployed to Kasoa.
The Police Commander also warned teenagers who roam in the street engaging in illegal activities to be careful.
According to him, intensive monitoring has been made with a proper assessment to demolish all weed and smoking centers in Kasoa.
Some of these suspected criminals were arrested at weed-smoking bases while some were also hiding at the cemetery with their bags and mats.
In addition, over 200 motorbicycles were also seized by the police with some unregistered and some with no documents and insurance on them.
Furthermore, the Kasoa Municipal Immigration Commander Superintendent Richard Agyapong also appealed to Landlords to consult immigration officers before renting their houses to foreigners to end crime in Kasoa.
Meanwhile, all the suspected criminals have been put in police custody and will be arraigned before the court for judgment.
