Ghanaian Boxing sensation Isaac Dogboe is hoping to launch his quest for another world title fight and impress Ghanaians when he graces the boxing ring next month against American Adam Lopez by knocking him out.
The former WBO junior featherweight champion, 26, is set to face Adam Lopez in a 10 round featherweight “undercard” battle with the winner having a shot at a world title later in the year.
The ‘Royal Storm’ as he is affectionately called has only fought once after his back-to-back defeats to Emmanuel Navarette and triumphing over Chris Avalos with an eighth-round stoppage last July.
Speaking to Starr FM Sports ahead of his bout against the California-born boxer on June 19, at the Virgin Hotels in Las Vegas, Dogboe revealed that he is upbeat about the challenge Adam Lopez brings to the table, complementing the qualities of his opponent.
“Adam Lopez is a good boxer,” he said, adding “We have already anticipated what they are going to bring on the table but we cannot get ahead of ourselves. We are ready for him, we are anticipating a massive victory on the night.”
Isaac Dogboe added that he is looking to give his fans a good fight during the encounter while confident of a knockout victory.
“We are anticipating that we will be cruising to a knockout victory. Every time I step in the ring I have knockout on my mind because knockouts are exciting, we are going in for a massive victory and knock him out.”
“I love to give the fans an entertaining fight because I don’t want to retire [one day] and say I wish I had done this or that,” he told Starr Sports’ Benjamin Yamoah from his US base.
The Ghanaian boxing sensation now has a fight record of 23 fights with 21 wins, 15 knockouts and 2 losses.
The bout is scheduled for June 19 at the Theater at Virgin Hotels in Las Vegas and will be live on ESPN.
