‘Gospel Musicians Are The Most Hypocrites’

‘Gospel Musicians Are The Most Hypocrites’

‘Say Cheese’ crooner, Kidi, has fired shots at gospel musicians describing them as the “most hypocrites.”

According to him, just for the mere fact that they are gospel musicians doesn’t make them the most righteous than the other category of musicians like him.

Kidi was responding to gospel fans who have been trolling him for losing out on 2021 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards Artiste of the Year award to gospel musician, Diana Hamilton.

Speaking on Hitz FM after the award ceremony on Monday, he revealed that gospel fans have been making unsavoury comments about his loss.

According to him, they made it sound as though he is a demon because he does secular music and competed with a gospel act.

He was not comfortable with the trolls and therefore set the record straight.

“I have congratulated Aunty Diana but I want people to know that the fact I don’t do gospel music doesn’t make me a demon. “A lot of Christians are saying ‘how dare you to go against God… Do you think you can beat ‘Adom’ with ‘Say Cheese’? I’m like am I a devil?” he disclosed.

“I keep saying most of the gospel musicians are the most hypocrites… yes you are a Christian but it doesn’t make you more righteous than me… The fact that I am doing ‘Say Cheese’ doesn’t make me less righteous,” he fired.

“When you go to wedding after playing Diana Hamilton’s ‘Adom’ song, you play ‘Say Cheese’ right after… we all share love through music… I am not a demon please …”he indicated.

“It is not fair…I am not satan,” he added.

He also denied claims that he was angry after losing out to Diana. According to him, he was only disappointed in not winning but not angry.

Kidi won three awards during the Saturday event in the categories; Afrobeats/Afropop Song of the Year, EP of the Year and Highlife Song of the Year with the song ‘Enjoyment’.
