Puma Energy Launches Infrastructure Site Safety Campaign in Ghana

Puma Energy Distribution Ghana Limited, one of Ghana’s leading Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) on Wednesday, August 11, launched their Infrastructure Site Safety Campaign in Takoradi.

Dubbed ‘Safety is Personal’ is premised on the need to personalize safety at Puma Energy’s nationwide to give staff a sense of ownership.

The campaign ties into the company’s strategic annual safety campaigns which has earned staff numerous awards.

Operations Manager at Puma Energy, Michael Mensah says safety underscores everything Puma Energy does, adding it is important that it comes first at all times.

While calling on staff to continue adhering to COVID safety protocols, he also shared a personal safety moment where he recollected a time where negligence caused a fire outbreak, leading to one person’s death.

Mr Wilson Asota, the Country Safety Manager acknowledged the effort all staff put into making the company a reputable one.

“Safety is not a gadget but a state of mind,” speaking further on all critical points concerning the campaign.

“At Puma Energy, we take safety very personal – one of the reasons this year’s theme is ‘Safety is personal’. We have proven this also, by our 3 ISO certifications.”

He further stated that the campaign will be replicated at other sites as well, to reiterate the company’s stance on safety.

In a related development, a similar event has been held in Tema, where officials met with other staff from various locations.

Puma Energy Ghana started its operations in Ghana in 2016, and has over 80 retail service stations across the country.
