MP FOR WASSA AMENFI EAST DONATES SPORT KITS AND CASH TO THREE TEAMS

 

The Member of Parliament for Wassa Amenfi East Constituency in the Western Region, hon. Nicholas Amankwah, a.k.a “Home Boy” on Friday 20, donated sports kits to there Second Division Clubs in the constituency.

Amenfi East second division teams are Akropong United in Wasa Akropong, Budo FC of Wasa Grumisa, and Kings FC located in Wasa Jukwa Heman Mpatase upon their qualification to participate in an upcoming division two sub middle league were each presented with sets of jerseys and three footballs each.

Each of the teams was also presented with 1000 Ghana Cedis to facilitate their activities.

Speaking to the Media, the MP reaffirmed his commitment to sports development because it had a positive influence on youth social activities since many youth are gifted with football skills in Amenfi East.

The donation according to the MP, is in a way to support, encourage and also boost their morale for them to excel in the competition ahead of them.

“as you are going out to fight for the three slots in other to qualify for the super middle league, the spirits of Amenfi east is solidly behind you and we are hoping that all the three Amenfi east teams will make us proud and qualify for the super middle league where eventually we will expect that one of my constituency teams will win the slot to qualify for division one league in the upcoming soccer season” he said.

He therefore entreated the teams to take their training and matches seriously, adding that football has a lot of economic gains and could open a lot of opportunities for those who would take it seriously as their future career.

He mentioned that, the people in Wassa Amenfi East are anxious to have a Premier Division in the municipality since they have no Premier League Club.

The MP was impressed upon the players to go beyond exhibiting discipline on the pitch but to ensure that it reflects in all their endeavours since discipline was the hallmark to development of people and the nation.

Whilst commending the teams for working hard despite some constraints, he appealed to each of them to aspire higher to get to the Premier Division.

The MP later pledged to provide more sport equipment to the teams and promised to ensure his full support towards the survival of the clubs.
