Kamal-Deen suggests to NPP how they can break the 8

The governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) has served notice that it would break the two-term-8-year-cycle, which has become the norm for both the NPP and the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) since the commencement of the fourth republic in 1992.

Several NPP big wigs have suggested ways to achieve this.

In a latest suggestion, a former National Nasara Coordinator of the NPP, Kamal-Deen Abdulai, has advised his party to expand its base to get more officers to work at the grassroot level.

In a Facebook post, Mr. Abdulai mentioned that “as it stands, the NPP has, in every polling station five executives. The Chairman, Secretary, Organizer, Women Organizer and Youth Organizer who do not have deputies”.

He said politics is about numbers and that if he were the national organizer, his strongest advocacy would be “to reconstitute the base of the party by adding a Nasara Coordinator to the existing five executives”.

He further suggested that all polling station executives must have deputies to increase their numerical strength from five to twelve.

This, he concluded, would be a mobilized drive, for the NPP to break the cycle of eight.
