Premier Health Insurance Company, has been adjudged the Pride of Ghana health insurance company 2021 at the 8th prestigious Made in Ghana Awards (MIGA) ceremony held in Accra.
The award is in recognition of Premier’s outstanding performance in Ghana’s fledging health insurance industry.
Through its service quality, competitiveness and innovation in the health insurance industry, Premier Health Insurance became one of 33 other companies and individuals crowned for their stellar performances in the business sector for the year 2021.
Some of the award winners include, Dr. Daniel Mckorley, Executive Chairman, McDan Group Of Companies; Gopal C. Vasu Managing Director, M & G Pharmaceuticals Ltd; Madam. Valentina Mintah, Founder, West Blue Consulting; Goil Company, Quick Angels Ltd, Kab-Fam Ghana Ltd singled out for excellence and commendation.
In an interview at the sidelines of the award ceremony, the CEO of Premier Health Insurance Company, Mr Percy Asare Ansah described the award as “humbling and thoroughly exciting.”
He added to be crowned the Health Insurance Company of the year at MIGA is a testimony of the quality service Premier Health Insurance Company has been rendering to its clients. For years we have invested time and resources in providing quality but affordable services to our clients and we are happy our efforts have been recognized once again.”
He was quick to add, the award would only spur them on to deliver quality services to clients across the country, adding, “The health insurance sector is still a virgin market begging for the most innovative products and I trust that our Apomuden plan and other products remain crucial for the individual and corporate health needs of potential clients.”

Organized by the Entrepreneur Foundation of Ghana (EFG), a not for profit organization, MIGA is to honour outstanding personalities in business, as well as businesses with a proven track record of quality, efficiency and reliability.
Organizers say the award ceremony was birthed and nurtured out of the necessity to build a strong network of Ghanaian and foreign entrepreneurs in a booming business environment.
The theme for this year’s ceremony was “Building Ghanaian Brands to Compete on Global Market and was graced by the Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture Mohammed Awal as the Guest of Honour.
Mr Awal challenged the awardees to be globally competitive, a feat he stressed could only be made possible with consistent track record of performance and integrity.
He applauded the winners for their contribution towards the growth and development of the country through excellent products and services, provision of employment and other critical areas of the economy.
In a video message, the US Ambassador, Stephanie Sullivan, commended the award winners for their contributions towards rebuilding an economy ravaged by Covid 19.
She said despite the devastating impact of Covid 19 on Ghana, the economy grew in 2020 and has been projected to grow further in the year 2021.
Award Winners
Indigenous Ghanaian companies including the Premier Health Insurance Company, Goil Company Ltd etc received the Pride of Ghana Award category of the award.
Ghana’s Ambassador to Germany, Mrs Gina Blay was named as the Outstanding Ghanaian Ambassador with the Managing Director of GOIL Company Limited, Mr Kwame Osei-Prempeh picking up the Outstanding CEO of the Year Award.
Indomie Instant Noodle also picked up the Outstanding Product of the Year.
