The Zimbabwe Football Association has named Norman Mapeza as interim coach to replace Croat Zdravko Logarusic who was sacked last week due to poor results in the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
Mapeza, regarded as one of the best local coaches will lead Zimbabwe for the rest of the qualifying cycle.
Apparently, former Warriors great, Bruce Grobbelaar had also expressed interest in the job.
Mapeza’s first games will be against Ghana as Zimbabwe face off with Black Stars in a double-header early next month.
The Black Stars will also face Zimbabwe with a new head coach following the sacking of Charles Akonnor.
