France win UEFA Nations League with dramatic comeback win over Spain

World champions, France have been crowned the second-ever UEFA Nations League winners after bouncing back from a goal down to claim a 2-1 victory over Spain at the San Siro stadium in Milan, Italy.

In a similar fashion as was in the semifinals last Thursday against Belgium, the French went behind but later turned the deficit upside to win after 90 minutes.

After a dull first half, Mikel Oyarzabal kicked the final into life with a goal after receiving a long pass from Sergio Busquets and brilliantly took the ball in his stride and fired a fine left-footed effort past Lloris for his sixth international goal in the 64th minute to put Spain ahead.

Just two minutes later, Kylian Mbappe found Karim Benzema, who beautifully curled the ball into the top right corner to level the game up.

Though the game was now wide open, it surprisingly took an 80th minute effort for the winner to arrive through Kylian Mbappe, who was released by Theo Hernandez, he smashed a great shot into the buttom corner after a one-on-one with the goalkeeper.

The third and fourth positions however were earlier decided today in an end-to-end fashion where reigning European champions, Italy defeated Belgium by two goals to one.
