GPL debutants Gold Stars receive new bus from Chirano Gold Mines

Ghana Premier League debutants Bibiani Gold Stars FC have received a brand new bus from Chirano Gold Mines in an effort to boost the team’s performance in the top-flight league.

Gold Stars are one of the three sides which gained promotion from the Division One League.

They take on former champions Berekum Chelsea in their debut game on Sunday, October 31.

Speaking at a short ceremony to hand over the 33-seater bus to the team, Vice President and General Manager of Chirano Gold Mines Terence Watunga said the donation is to provide a safe and comfortable means of transportation to the side as they compete in the 2021/2022 League.

“This donation reinforces our commitment to being an Outstanding Corporate Citizen and a strategic partner in the socio-economic development of the Western North Region of Ghana,” Mr Watunga said.

“I want to congratulate the Bibiani Gold Stars for qualifying for the Premier League.”

Gold Stars are expected to take on the likes of Asante Kotoko – on Match Day 3 on Friday, November 12 – and Hearts of Oak – on Match Day 12 on Friday, January 7, 2022 – at the Bibiani Park.

“The Western North region will count on you to bring glory and honour by winning your games.  Let the other football clubs, Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Accra Hearts of Oak, and others, know that we have arrived, and we are going to compete for the pride and prize of the league trophy.”

The entire Bibiani was urged to support the only side from the Western North Region.

“I urge all the people of Bibiani and the Western North Region to rally solidly behind and give our full support to the Bibiani Gold Stars FC Football club as they strive for greatness.”
