Medeama SC have sacked coach Ignatius Osei-Fosu following the side’s poor start to the 2021/2022 Ghana Premier League, 3sports has reported.
He is the second coach to be sacked after AshantiGold sacked Ernest Thompson over unsatisfactory results.
The Mauve and Yellows are winless after three games, collecting just two points from a possible nine.
The former Liberty trainer joined Medeama ahead of the season from Techiman Eleven Wonders, where he avoided relegation last season.
His performance at Wonders influenced Medeama’s decision to hire him, hoping he would do better but things haven’t gone as planned.
The club started their campaign with a heavy defeat, losing 4-0 at Bechem United.
Medeama tried to justify the defeat by saying they were affected by the Covid-19 vaccine which their players took two days before the game.
But their performance did not improve and were held by newly-promoted Bibiani Goldstars in Tarkwa in their second game.
The goalless draw at Wonders last Sunday is the last straw that broke the camel’s back for Ignatius Osei-Fosu.
Medeama are expected to announce a new coach soon.
